Pitts & Wits |

When
we passed the toll way entry into Indiana, Uppukaruvaadu
Ooravachcha soru song started filling in the car.
Every half hour, Niveta asked whether we reached Pittsburgh. We stopped frequently at Service Plazas. Niveta and I were singing
Sippi Irukkudhu, Brochaevaa, Siva Siva Siva Sankara etc. during the
entire drive. Police cars were frequently seen in Ohio. Later
understood from people that Ohio is very strict on the speed
limits.
Rest of the
drive was not so interesting. We finally reached Pittsburgh at about
6.00 PM and checked-in to the hotel.
At about 7.00pm, I called Sun to inform my arrival and told him that we would meet the next day. Then I called Srikanth. His wife Jaishree picked the line and she was so kind and insistent that we should meet for the dinner the same evening. Then I spoke to Sriki for directions and he put me on to RJay who happened to be at Sriki's place for song recording. RJay gave me the directions. We started driving and on the way Niveta felt like having french fries. I stopped at Wendy's for the fries and continued our journey to Srikanth's house. The tunnel way was very nice, as there was no traffic. I took a wrong exit and got trapped into Pittsburgh downton small roads. After about 20 minutes I was back on the correct express way and reached Srikanth's house. The time was almost 9.00pm. Srikanth was standing outside with Sriya and looking for us. I parked the car on the side and got down waving my hand to Sriki. He came towards me and we exchanged greetings. We were meeting for the first time but it was very casual without any inhibition. I apologized for the delay and as I was talking to Srikanth, Malathy was panic and told me she lost her handbag. I looked at her like how Sivaji looked Nakkeerar in Thiruvilayaadal. We went into the house and were greeted by everyone. RJay's family was also there. Jaishree gave yellow pages and Malathy immediately called Wendys. Jaishree & Jaishree (Srikanth & RJay's wives) were assuring Malathy that she would get back her handbag. As everyone wished, the handbag was safe with Wendy's management and they told us we could collect anytime. Wow! we got a sigh of relief and got back to rejoicing mood. Niveta got a good company with Sriya & Khavya (Rjay's 5yr old daughter). The kids were playing, ladies were in the kitchen and the gents started talking about music, music, music. RJay asked me how I got into this TFM-DF group. I told about my different avatharaas in TFMDF. I told all my pseudonames (pae, meenu, CS, porambokku,...........) that I use. Sriki & RJay were quoting with examples lot of lifts (inspirations) by different MD's from different forms of music. I told RJay to continue the thread which he started to tell about the music technicalities. The discussion was information rich and most of the time I was at the receiving end. |
