Pitts & Wits

Then we went to Gateway clipper fleet to catch 4.00pm boat ride.  This one hour boat ride covers the city sights and narrates the interesting tales of Pittsburgh's past and present as we cruise along three rivers.  The entire ride is for one hour and costumed mascots are also there for kids fun time.  We were just in time for this ride.  Five minutes after the ride, Aruna called me to inform that she was ready to take us to their house if we were ready.  I told her that I would call her once  we finished the ride. It was so relaxing and we enjoyed the entire voyage with cool three river breeze.

We got out of the boat and started walking towards our car.  The time was 5.45 pm.  I called Sun. He was at home after his trips to airport and gave me the directions to his house.  It took about 35 minutes from the place I started.  Pitts roads are not flat roads like Chicago.  Lot of ups and downs with narrow turns.  Hence the speed limit is not more than 35 and at places for few miles you have to drive only at 20 mph.

We reached Sun's house. Sun had gone to the shop.  Aruna and Manasa were there.  Niveta and Manasa soon got along (they are at same age) and not to be seen until dinner time. We were talking generally about Chicago, Florida, life in Singapore etc.  By then Sun came from the shop.   After few formal introductions Sun took us to show the garden.  He was explaining every detail about every plant, flower, seeds, fertilizers, cultivation etc.  It was a mini "vayalum vaazhvum" session for us.   To simply put, what music is to Srikanth, gardening is to Sun.

Aruna started preparing dinner.  Malathy started to assist her in making chappathis.  Sun was cutting fruits meticulously.  He was making fruit custard for dessert.  I was simply sitting and watching the folks work.   We were again talking about  gardening.  He was narrating how he was unable to grow bitterguard and snakegurds in the last season.  Niveta and Manasa came to kitchen and they were doing muppet show.  Sun finished cutting the fruits for custard and put the same in the freezer.  Another Chandrasekar,  Sun's friend joined us for dinner.  Sun explained about how to convert old tapes to CD through music match.

Mixed vegetable with panir, dhal, chappathi, rice were served for dinner.  The dinner was wonderful, very tasty.  Once Aruna and Malathy finished their dinner we all sat on the living room and talked about friends and relatives.  Sun was explaining about "plasma" donation, as he is a regular blood donor, he has been asked to do plasma donation.  Sun then took us around their house.  The house is big and well maintained.   Niveta and Manasa  had tidied-up the latter's room before they came down to perform the muppet show to surprise their moms.   It was 10.45pm.  Next day was Monday, working day for both Sun and Aruna.  We started to leave for hotel.  Suddenly Aruna remembered something....
