the travelogues are written by Bull (Sunder). This is not written
by Bull as he did not make this travel. Also, it is not fair for
me to ask him to write on my behalf. If you want to know
about Pittsburgh's history, culture, civilization et al, please exit
this site and do google search for all these information. Please
put smileys wherever you feel like as you read.
On Friday, June 8th, I went home for my my sumptuous late lunch. The lunch was as usual delicious and I had extra servings. Then I returned to office for my usual chores - AP, Hotmail, DF etc. At about 3pm, Malathy (my wife) rang my cell phone and started asking about a trip to Pittsburgh temple that week end. After a brief hesitation I nodded in agreement to her plan and things happened in rocket speed. I immediately sent an email to Sun (Ravi Sundaram) about my sudden trip to Pitts and asked him if it could be possible for us to meet. Within few minutes I got a graceful invitation from Sun. Meanwhile, Malathy checked with temple authorities and booked a nearby hotel. Suddenly it came to my mind that Srikanth is also living in Pittsburgh. I called his office immediately and he was happy to meet us. We planned to leave Chicago the very next morning and I collected the driving direction maps from the net. Niveta (my 7 year old daughter) was so excited about this trip and she started packing her pet toys, CDs, and cassettes. Malathy told me to bring the big camera (morattu camera, in her words) which I had not touched for 3years. On Saturday, June 9th we started out from home at about 7.30 am towards IHOP for breakfast. IHOP (International House Of Pancakes) is PEESOO's usual joint for lunch. As Malathy was observing Sankata Hara Chadurthi viratham, she refused to eat anything until 6.00pm that day. Niveta and I had good breakfast and we briefly shopped at Valley Produce for some snacks, packet drinks and fruits for "munching on the way". Then I started to drive towards Pittsburgh. I was ordered not to play any music in the car for about an hour or so, as my wife was reading the slokas and Vinayaka Puranam. |
